Cho:lo Doll Couture Spring/ Summer Collection 2014: "Sheer Madness"

Always highly anticipated and never disappointing, Cholo Ayuyao has released the images of his new collection entitled Sheer Madness. The collection consists of 10 OOAK magnificent fashions which are now open for silent bidding.

Im so excited to announce that the Spring Summer '14 Collection "Sheer Madness" will be out this July 19, 2014, Saturday 9:00PM, Philippine Standard Time. There will be ten looks up for silent bidding after the online presentation via my Flickr account (just click my flickr account icon on your right side) and further information regarding how to bid will be posted here on my blog also. Since we all come from different parts of the world, hence different times, there will be a 24 hour bidding time, so everyone gets a chance.

Sheer Madness came from this idea while I was competing for the Couture Doll Design Challenge, CDDC, Years back during one challenge. A famous fashion forward actress was so into herself and her fashion to the point of being admitted to a mental institution from too much fabulosity. Even in her lockdown, she imagined herself in sheer embellished straight jackets and gowns, her mind twisting and turning with the ideas of grandeur and opulence. I thought this year will be a great opportunity to do that idea and actually expand it into 10 looks. I made one single pattern for every look, but different treatments in terms of embellishments. all looks are made of layered tulle, corset back for versatile fit. Five looks are fitted on Numina body, which could also fit Inamorata dolls, JS and Deva and similar size dolls, and the other five, fitted for sybs, which could also fit JS and RDG dolls. Embellishments are translation of the fashionista's crazy mind. its opulent, there's movement, intersecting, parallel lines of twinkling beads and finished off with textures of florets, tulles amd embossed fabric flowers. Instead of wigs, I opted for a lace headgear with a gag mask. The dolls are all barefoot this season though.

(You may click on the photos to bring them to full size.)

Cholo told me that "since darker colored dolls are close to my heart, I've added 3 looks specially for aa skin toned dolls."

These are his favorites of the collection.

Paul Pham's Numina Nimbus

The latest Numina went live last week and sold out in about a minute.  She is an edition of 50 and cost $700. Paul's dolls are gaining popularity with every new release.

Here is the description from Paul's site:
Pale skintone, blue-grey eyes with stormy charcoal shadow and matte nude lips. Long loosely curled strawberry blonde wig by Ilaria. Sky blue silk satin trench, lined in pale silver silk habotai with metallic sequin/beading detail at shoulders and pockets, belted with a pieced "leather" obi. Underneath is a soft pink chiffon and metallic lace slip dress. Completing the look, a pair of dark grey thigh high "suede" wedge boots.

OOAK Numina by Paul Pham

Today Paul posted these photographs of his new OOAK Numina, Dusk. He described her as a "pale skin Devon in a OOAK beaded and sequined lace and chiffon dress with a silk organza wimple and OOAK suede ankle boots."
She is the first in a collection of 6 one- of-a-kind dolls. The next up is Dawn who is currently in the works.

You can contact Paul by going to his website Dollcis.

PFDF Numina and Barbie

Sherryl from Arizona posted these two pictures on Prego earlier of the event Barbie and Paul Pham's new Numina.

Barbie is called Le Belle Epoque. She is a vinyl, non articulated doll LE 375. I'm sure there will be quite a few floating around on eBay shortly.

Paul's doll has been mentioned previously on this blog. She is gorgeous as is her wig and fashion.
I do not think you will find this on eBay - ever.

Devon and Talc

I was having fun taking pictures with my iPhone yesterday. Once I got them into my computer, I played around in Photoshop. This image pleased me.

Fun With Devon, Sybil and Breasts

This evening I'm accompanied at my computer by my new Basic Devon who is sitting next to the monitor as I create. Her eyes bore into me until I pulled the point-and-shoot camera out of the drawer and snapped away. The surface of her resin is like silk. Her joints are beautiful and she poses like a dream. She will live here for a very long time.

Another character who lives here - but we can call her basement cat - is Sybil. Poor Sybil's head broke off of her body during this photoshoot while I was squeezing her into one of Ellowyne's dresses. She was going to be The Wolf in a humorous piece I'm working on. However, casting decided that someone else would be better. I think she's very good as the wolf. Don't you?

Preorder Basic Devon

Paul Pham announced that he will accept pre-orders for the new Basic Devon beginning Friday, October 28.
No price point or time was included in the announcement.  http://dollcis.com/

The timing of this release and that of Masque from Superfrock  is unfortunate for anyone traveling to the Halloween convention in Burlington, Vermont.  But there are always mobile apps and Paypal functions quite well from a smartphone.

Devon's Photoshoot

A new wig from Time of Doll arrived last week and popped right on to Devon's head. She has been sitting on a box in my doll closet sans clothes for a while  - looking gorgeous of course. I think I like her better naked.
Devon has a very yellow tone and her facial paint is golden around the eyes. The backdrop I photographed her against was already hanging and I was too lazy to change it. Unfortunately, it is golden as well. You may or may not know that digital cameras can be quite off when it comes to accurate color rendition-especially indoors. The colors between these images is not consistent as I played around with them in Photoshop.

Devon is wearing some of Tonner's Tyler Boutique garments and MA Alex shoes. The Tyler tops are large on Devon and the Alex shoes aren't perfect either. Chair is by Horseman for Vita.

Is it that difficult to copy 5 letters in a row?

Screen shot from my computer.

They spelled my name wrong even though it's spelled out clearly in the signature at the bottom of my image.
They might have asked if they could use it but I don't remember. What is so difficult about a 5 letter name?

Pretty Doll Pictures

I've been crazy busy these last few weeks with new dolls and doll clothes. I finally photographed the Misaki I purchased during the convention in Pittsburgh more than 2 months ago. She is Red Rabbit and I wanted her from the first time I saw her. I sold my entire Misaki collection about three years ago. She is the only one living here.

She is sitting on a little shelf with one of my computer speakers. I am happy to finally have her.

The Evangeline Ghastly stuff keeps flowing in. As of today I have acquired three dressed dolls, nine complete fashions, several separates and accessories such as hats and shoes, wigs and Bella. I have never gone so gaga over a doll. I am quite sure that part of this is my desire to go in a different direction with my collecting.

A Tangled Web in A Windy Evening coat.
Waiting for Mortimer with Bella.
Everlasting Evangeline in her own outfit with Joe Tai jewelry.
Aren't they gorgeous? The first and third EG's are wigged. I wish they were all wigged dolls. It's so much more fun to be able to change their appearance.

I have been buying clothing for my 16" dolls and filling in here and there. The big girls are getting lots of attention and they look fabulous. I stare at Devon a lot. She is so gorgeous. I'm a little afraid to touch her. I've got lots of stuff for her to try. Right now she is in one of the Tonner Death by Fashion dresses and I just stare at her. I will take a picture....after I finish staring. I haven't even posted a picture of her in this blog yet.  Here she is in Bijou's gown and necklace. The wig is AG Eclectic's (I think.)
These pictures of Devon were taken with a point and shoot camera.
(That's an excuse. Haha)

The next two were taken in the studio.
Original Wig by Pattart

I am having problems with my camera and lighting. My pictures are coming out off color and it may be due to my older strobes. I readjusted the settings inside the camera but I'm not satisfied. I have to do way too much post-processing color adjustment.
